It really amazes me how much medical research is going on in this country. There is medical research going on for just about every disease I've ever heard of and a few body parts I didn't even know existed. There is a United States government website that lists all of the current medical research.
The medical research on bacterial and fungal diseases has a lot of studies and trials that are recruiting patients. The studies range from bacterial conjunctivitis to toxemia.
